Ok, it’s been a long and bumpy ride.   Finally I can say that I enjoy eating cottage cheese.  Just today I found a new way to enjoy it.  It is very refreshing and really reminds me of summer.  Take your cottage cheese (recommended brand knudsen), slice up some cumcumber, and add a little salt and peppa :)    Umm yummy

Also, if I haven’t mentioned it.  It is great with pineapple.  This even helps with a sweet tooth.  Fresh pineapple is better for you than canned!

So, I think I am finally on the right track with Cottage Cheese.   If you take the small tomatoes, cut them with a little salt & pepper.  It is great.  Keep in mind I don’t like the taste or texture.  It really fixes everything, and I think I might actually enjoy it now.   Wow, what a turn around.  Going from almost puking when trying to eat it to looking forward to it.  Hmm

By the way – DO NOT try mixing yogurt into it.  Especailly the Activa kind.  Just the thought of it is making me sick.  The texture is 10 times worse, and the taste is like something they give you before you go in for a surgery.  Ya know the one that “cleans you out”  UGH!!!

Well I have now tried various brands of cottage cheese – and still been unsuccessful in my mission to “like” it.  I have now found out there are vaious curd sizes.  Apparently I was just eating the standard, but they make small curds.   Guess what do not, I repeat DO NOT buy Daisy brand small curds.  It looks like little hamster food pellets, and probably tastes as good.  Which when eating eat, did not really mesh with any of the fruit I was trying.  I’ve tried various fruits:  strawberries, pineapple, blue berries, and pineapple has definitly been my favorite.  Since I was having such bad experiences I have everyone try what I’m eating.    Just to make sure it’s not always in my head.  Confirmation that some brands are better that others.  I also tried the Land O Lake’s brand – not good.  It was just recommended to me to try the Knudsen (small curd).  Still searching… on my quest to find my way to cottage cheese heaven: )

I am currently on a quest to become healthier. Little did I know it would consist of eating things I hate. One of which would be cottage cheese. I am inviting you on my journey of trying to build a relationship that does not make me puke everytime we come in contact. I tried cottage cheese some time ago, at the urging of one of my Wisconsin friends. Just for your info, they love all cheeses, and they really are cheese heads or should I say snobes. Anyways, it didn’t work then, and it doesn’t seem to be working now. However, at the strong urging of my trainer I must try to overcome this because “cottage cheese is a high source of protein” Blah blah blah. Cottage cheese is the source of my demise. Stay tuned…
